| Are you kidding me!!?? People love to complain. A lot of people on this forum have been asking for a summer tournament and now people are complaining about the entry fee. $75 for a 3 man tourny is VERY fair. Like you said, that's $25 a person. The only way the price is coming down is dropping the prizes. At that rate, you might as well not even call it a tournament. Call it "Open Play" with a free t-shirt to the team that gets shot up the least. |

I think Outcast will have one, if not two teams.
And If it helps any, Ill be there taking pictures, so you all can remember how good you looked no matter how well you do
And Ill even make a framed 8x10 for the winning team in addition to the sweeet prizes. |

I wouldn't call it complaining. I know I am just voicing my opinion. I knew of and know several people that gripe, itch, piss and moan and COMPLAIN. I know for darn sure that if I drove almost 160 some odd miles to play a tourney and I came back with just a hopper and trophy, I will hear nothing but complaints and itching for months on end from my wife on how we drove so many miles, to shoot globs of goo all day for what......I'm just saying |

You're assuming you'd win a hopper and trophy...
I'd like to believe that most teams come to these smaller events for the competition and to play paintball, not to win prizes. It's 3-man, so a limited amount of paint would be shot and the organizer can't rely on making money from paint alone. In other words, R&M could just focus on more profitable events like team practices and scenario games. I play every weekend, spend alot of money and often drive (and even sometimes fly) long distances, but I rarely win prizes. Why do I do it?
The fact is that leagues like the AXBL and NYPL suck up most of the more serious players in the region, and the local scene suffers. That being said, a small, relatively inexpensive tournament was requested and R&M responded. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like too many people are interested after all. Additionally, in an attempt to make it cheaper, an offer was made to do away with the prizes and lower the cost, but that didn't seem to help.
Maybe this thread should be stickied so that the next time players start asking where all the tournaments are, they can be pointed here. |

Jeremiah---I understand what you are saying, but some things are better left unsaid. When I played for Kiniption Fit, I can't tell you how many times we entered into tournaments that took place in Syracuse or even further. What's more is that we knew going into the tournament that any prizes we won were going to be small, and some might have to be donated to our Team Fund. It never stopped us from playing.
Kevin gives a more recent narrative of a slightly different story in his post. |

| wow... see i open this thread using my precious time, and this is what i gotta read, honestly $25 is nothing to play on a decent organized level of competition. you're dumb. i was hoping this thread was gonna be 20 team saying they're coming to this tournament and its just 1 guy bitching about how his life sucks, and how the prices are "steep" i'm 19 and can afford axbl which is way more expensive than this. so relax and if you have a problem keep it to your self. thanks. |

| Well said Chris, well said. Put the gear you buy to use on the field or in the woods, not in the backyard. |
